The projects and partnerships pursued in recent years can only make a difference if they are combined with a path towards corporate sustainability that makes daily business life more eco-friendly, through both short-term and long-term actions.
Renewable energy
The new logistics hub, which opened in 2019, features a solar photovoltaic system installed on a large roof area. By producing around 20 kWh per day, we are able to drastically reduce our daily energy consumption and our use of natural resources, as well as limiting CO2 emissions: each kWh produced avoids the emission of 0.53 kg of carbon dioxide.
Corporate mobility
The company fleet has also undergone a green revolution: in 2021, following the installation of the first e-station in front of the entrance to our headquarters, the first hybrid plug-in company cars arrived, followed by the first fully-electric zero-emission vehicle.
A more environmentally-friendly car policy with alternative traction will enable us to reduce the air pollution generated by carbon dioxide emissions.
Our goal is to have a 50% hybrid car fleet by 2023.
Supply Chain
By choosing Kuehne+Nagel as our main contact for sea freight, we are participating in the Net Zero Carbon programme, which has two key objectives: to make logistics more sustainable by offsetting direct CO2 emissions, and to work with suppliers who share the same ambition by 2030.
We already managed to reduce our CO2 emissions by 9 tonnes in 2020.
